Gay and lesbian people can form attraction and/or relationships with people of the same gender. English also does have gendered grammar, but does have gendered semantics. Some people use the words bisexual and bi to describe the community. Outside of acronyms, these terms should only be capitalized when used at the beginning of a sentence.
